7/29/08- Flight for Life Call - Route 31

 

These pictures were taken following a one car MVC  that happened on Route 31, on July 29, 2008.  One patient was air lifted to a Level I trauma center for their injuries.  The LZ was at the High School Football field.

7/9/08- Flight for Life Call - Keystone Road

 

These pictures were taken following a motorcycle accident on Keystone Rd. on July 9, 2008.  Two patients were air lifted to a Level I trauma center for their injuries.  Two Flight for Life helicopters were used for the transport.  The LZ was the new bike path resting area recently constructed on Conservation District property.

 

5/19/08- Richmond Assists On Fire North Quad Barn Fire

 

These pictures were taken at the Quad Call barn fire in Hebron, IL.  Richmond responded with Engine 1443 Tender 1472 and  Chief 1402.  The barn was located in a rural area of Hebron's district and was completed engulfed upon arrival.  The fire commuted to two other nearby barns which were also destroyed.  Richmond's Engine 1443 (2006 Pierce Enforcer) was the second engine on the scene and given the assignment to hold the fire from commuting to three other nearby barns. Engine 1443 pumped a 2 1/2" hand line its crew who held the advancing fire at bay until another 2 1/2" hand line could be stretched to their location to assist.  The fire was pushed back and extinguished from this final position.

11/24/07 - Richmond Assists On Fire North Quad Barn Fire

In the early morning hours of November 24, 2007 a Fire North Quad Barn Fire was dispatched in Hebron Fire's district.  Richmond responded with Engine 1443 and a Chief.  The barn was located in a rural area of Hebron's district and was completed engulfed when it was called in.  Richmond's Engine 1443 (2006 Pierce Enforcer) was the second engine on the scene and was assigned to relay pump to the Hebron Engine from a rural water source.  The pictures above show Engine 1443 relay pumping from a tender water operation set up at the road.  300 feet of 5 inch supply line was dropped by Engine 1443.

11/12/07 - Richmond Assists On Corn Crib Fire

Richmond Fire assisted Hebron Fire on a corn crib fire that was confined mostly to the roof line.  Richmond E-1443 was first engine on the scene and one attack hand line was pulled to extinguish the fire.

10/4/07 - Car Fire at Gas Pumps

Richmond Fire responded to an early morning car fire at the pumps of the local Citgo gas station.  The call was upgraded to a Fire North Quad call when a large dark header could be seen from the fire station 1-mile away.  Engine 1446 was on the scene in 3 minutes and quickly extinguished the car fire that complete severed and destroyed a fueling pump at the station.  Chief Gallas was able to stand down the responding Quad units, with the exception of an engine from Spring Grove, who assisted in the overhaul process.

3/29/07 Richmond Air Lifts Patent to Level 1 Hospital

Richmond Fire responded a call for a person who had severed their fingers.  The patient was flown to a Milwaukee hospital for surgery.  The picture above shows the landing zone (LZ) that was set up at a local sub-division and the crew taking the patient to the chopper.
