Spring Grove St. Peter's Pre-School Fire Station Visit May 12, 2009
The pre-school classes from
St. Peter's in Spring Grove visited the Richmond Fire Station on May 11
& 12th for a tour of the station. Approximately 45 pre-schoolers
visited the station and were treated to a tour and general fire safety
message. The bright-eyed visitors were then transported to the
Library for the second part of their adventure with a genuine Fire
Engine ride with emergency lights and siren included. All attendees
were appreciative of the hospitality given to them on their visit.
Richmond Fire Trains
for Ice Rescues
January 31st was a bright
sunny and cold day. But that did not deter members of the Richmond
F.P.D. from going for a dip in the icy waters of the Fox River.
With a growing number of ponds, water retention areas, small lakes and
the Nippersink Creek in district, the possibility of ice rescues during
winter months is a possibility. Richmond firefighters who attended
the training got to use the district's new "Mustang" suit.
Following the training session, which was hosted by Fox Lake F.P.D., Fox
Lake Fire donated two "Gumby" suits to Richmond Fire. The addition
of these suits along with another that was donated by Twin Lakes Fire,
greatly enhance the ice and water rescue capabilities of the department.

The ladder pipe will be serviced, 3" hose acquired for it, and mount
brackets added to the truck so that Truck 1481 will have master stream
operations available.
The Richmond Fire
