Richmond Firefighters Train Regularly
The Burn down on 10/31/2010 was spectacular
Richmond Fire
was fortunate to have 3 old buildings to conduct training on over the summer
and fall. These buildings provided live burn training opportunities for the department
over the months we had them. In the
first picture shown above, A/C Doug Halverson conducts a roof operations training session with a number of our firefighters. A/C Halverson is demonstrating how to put a "leg lock" on a ridge line of a roof while chopping a hole for ventilation. A/C Halverson has many years of experience working on Truck 2 of Franklin Park Fire. In the
2nd picture above, Richmond Fire Lieutenant Matt Kohler explains the purpose of overhauling a room once the fire has been extinguished. Following his explanation, the crew proceeded to strip the walls down to the studs using a variety of different hand tools.
Truck Operations Class
was held on April 22, 2006. 34 students from 10 different
departments participated.
Richmond Truck 1481
Richmond Truck 1481 arrived in November of
2005. It was placed into full service on January 14, 2006 and saw
its first run, a 2 alarm fire later that day
