Radio Room/ Communications Center
The Richmond Township Fire Protection
District operates an auxiliary communications center that is able to
back up dispatch for our fire frequency in the event our primary
dispatch center experiences a service disruption. The desk
features a Zetron Model 4010 dispatch console monitoring 12 frequencies
of which 5 we can transmit on (due to FCC licensing restrictions).
Wireless Plantronics headsets for the user, allow for transmitting and
receiving anywhere in the station should he or she leave momentarily. ANI decoders on our fire frequency and local frequency identify our
radios as they key up in the display of the Zetron console.
This is a view of the radio desk from the entry way to the radio room. The chair on the left is for the EMnet communications computer. The chair in the middle if for the communications console. The chair on the right is located at the Mobile Data Browser that has access to current calls and vehicle status for the Fire North Quad.
