Richmond Township Rescue Gator 1469

Rescue Gator 1469 is a John Deer 6X4 Gator with a slide in patient transport unit installed.  The "Gator" was donated to the department by Medcor of McHenry and refurbished by the Richmond Firefighter's Association and the Fire District.

Response of 1469 is geared to the extraction of patients from remote areas where the ambulance is not able to transverse.  Areas such as the Kames out at Glacial Park, where hikers and cross country skiers can become injured, require a rescue response by the fire department.  Rescue Gator 1469 is able to transport EMS personnel to a remote area and bring the patient back to the ambulance for treatment and transport.

Equipment: Gator 1469 has a mobile radio and a patient transport pad that will support the patient and medic.  A storage compartment holds blankets and other equipment.  The unit also has an oxygen and IV holder built in.
