Emergency Medical Services

The Richmond Township Fire Protection District operates 2 Advanced Life Support Mobile Intensive Care Units.  These ambulances operate under the McHenry-Western Lake County Emergency Medical System standard operating procedures for patient care.  RTFPD also has Rescue Gator 1459 used for patient extraction and transport from remote areas.

Fire Suppression, Rescue, and Investigation

The Richmond Fire Protection District operates a full fleet of equipment ready to respond to all calls for service.  Richmond Township FPD operates in accordance to MABAS guidelines for mutual aid and auto aid assistance for elevated incidents and is a part of McHenry County MABAS Division 5 and the joint McHenry and Lake County Division 4 and 5 Specialized Response Teams for Technical Rescue, HazMat, Dive, and Wildland Firefighting.

The Fire Suppression Fleet consists of 2 Fire Engines, 1 Tanker, 1 Truck, and 1 Brush Truck

Support and Command Fleet

The Support and Command Fleet consists of 3 SUVs and a pickup truck that allow for the establishment of quick command structure or the shuttle of personnel to various scenes.  These SUVs consist of a Chief's Buggy, Shift Commander's Buggy, multi-purpose vehicle and a pickup truck.

Retired Fire Trucks

The Richmond Firefighter Association maintain two antique fire trucks.  They are housed at the station and are found in top shape at open houses, parades and community events
